These are three gorgeous sites, a short drive from Cape Town. Betty’s has dunes for soaring and nailing your spot landing and ground handling, Kleinmond is a hike and fly (with a tiny clearing for takeoff once you’ve mastered your ground handling) and beginner-friendly Hermanus has a big takeoff right next to where you park your car.
There is wonderful local soaring, but also some great XC flights have been clocked here. Note the airspace and other sensitivities of all the takeoffs, flight directions, and landings.
